As a strong and progressive Democrat, I would like to have a stronger voice in our party.  I am a native of Orange County, and a Navy veteran looking to help shape the future of our party.  I have volunteered for Steve Young's campaign as well as Howard Dean's campaign in New Hampshire and have served repeatedly as an inspector at the polls.  I am a college student majoring in political science, who is a strong proponent of environmental protections and a living wage.  For far too long I have seen Republicans carry elections here either unopposed or without a serious challenger.  If our goal is to be the permanently dominant party, we need to make inroads at the local levels first.
