Joan Quinn

My name is Joan Quinn. I am a retired attorney and lifelong Democrat. I am a progressive Democrat, dedicated to the traditional values of the Democratic Party, supporting labor unions, universal health care, womenʼs right to choose abortion.  I will stand up, and fight for, these traditional Democratic Party values.  I educated and demonstrated against the invasion of Iraq.               I am the proud daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter of union members and Democrats. My great-grandfather, James True Woods, organized many unions in Northern California. He spent some time in jail as a result of his union organizing activities. My father and grandfather were proud members of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 12,  all their working lives.
I became a voting integrity activist when I went to Ohio in December, 2004 and January, 2005 to research election fraud. As a result of my election fraud research, I testified at Rep. John Conyers' election fraud hearings in Columbus, Ohio on Dec. 13, 2004. I have continued my voting integrity activism in California.
I worked for Bill Durston, Alyson Huber, and Barack Obama in the recent election.  I worked for Bill Clinton in his first presidential campaign as a precinct captain and by registering voters. I worked for Dave Jones in his first Assembly campaign. I worked for Debra Bowen in her campaign for Secretary of State by raising money, organizing events, speaking at events, supplying campaign materials, phone-banking.
I am a founding member of the Wellstone Democratic Club of Sacramento, a member of Sacramento for Democracy, and a member of Stonewall Democratic Club.
