Neighbors become community: volunteer, plan events, raise funds, help write the Party platform
Phonebanks at home and in malls and parks speaking one to one to voters all over the US
And postcard writing to undecided voters, we got out the vote!
As one of your district CA Dem Party Delegates I am committed to action on:
- Excellent Education for California’s students – Reform No Child Left Behind: Improve our per student funding (we are now 48th in the US!) Restore science, art and music, civics, service learning, health, economics and vocational education to prepare our kids for successful careers, college and citizenship.
- Ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare – I believe that in the US healthcare is a right, not a privilege. I have many students who do not have insurance and cannot afford the care they need. Healthcare tied to employment is disastrous if you change or lose your job, have a chronic condition; its costs are also crushing small businesses. Prevention and health promotion like safe neighborhood recreation or nutritional labeling of restaurant menus give us the tools to be healthier.
- Support aggressive development and implementation of sustainable alternative energy. Action now on energy and climate change hold great opportunity for jobs and CA’s economy.
- Encourage bi-partisanship and cooperation in our state legislature – we need to stop bickering and blaming, there is too much work to be done!
- Protect our vote; increase voter registration and engagement, preserve secure paper ballots
- Restore Civil Liberties, Constitutional Rights, separation of Church and State, equality for every citizen
- Support Peace – work beyond military solutions. Work with allies – we cannot afford to go alone. Negotiate with friends and enemies. Use every tool we have – diplomacy, aid, trade, education…
