Ben Allen is a committed progressive who grew up in our assembly district.  The top vote-getter in the November 2008 election, Ben serves as the youngest member of the Santa Monica-Malibu Board of Education.  Currently an attorney, he was the student member of the University of California Board of Regents, Press Secretary to progressive Congressman Jose Serrano (D-NY), and has worked for the United Nations in Africa, the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs in Latin America, as a community organizer for the Los Angeles Unified School District, and for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
