Gabriel Mendez: I am 44 single dad and neighbor, running to be your Delegate for the 74th CA Assembly District. I’m a strong believer in Democratic and Progressive ideals and I believe I can represent you well at our Party’s conventions and meetings. Aside from my day job as a Medicinal Chemist and small biotech start-up team here in San Diego, I have served my community as a voter reg volunteer, Precinct Leader, GO-Team Community Coordinator, and worked on national Dem. campaigns in L.A (Riordan) and North County (Leibham, Kerry, Obama). These activities have taught me that we as individuals can make a difference when we come together as a group for a common purpose. Change includes; addressing global warming, a vibrant 21st century green economy that puts Americans to work, a fair and just tax system, improving healthcare (universal), green energy, helping our state lead in ending the war(s) and improving our standing in the world, well-rounded good education for Californians (pre-K thru college inc. vocational and trade schools). Aside from that, government should stay out of citizen’s personal lives and choices (inc marriage, choice, etc).
