I am running for this position because I believe

that the Democratic Party needs to be assertive

in addressing issues including ending the wars in

Iraq and Afghanistan, advocating for a universal

health care system, addressing environmental

issues, etc.

I am the Director of the Topanga

Peace Alliance and a member of Progressive

Democrats of the Santa Monica Mountains.

I recently convened a meeting of local residents to

provide input to the Obama/Biden Transition Team

on health care reform, and will continue to be

active in working for the causes that residents

in our area care deeply about.

My background is in health and human services policy and systems

change. I have worked in government and directed

non-profit agencies. I am not afraid to challenge

authority, and have a strong track record in

building consensus and achieving needed policy

and programmatic changes. If elected, I promise

to be a committed advocate for all of you.
