As publisher of The Progressive Post, I am current with issues of importance to you, from the war in Iraq, to stopping builders from killing off endangered species. My 15 years in politics began with efforts to take back the Vista School Board from right-wing extremists. Over the years, I have organized dozens of events for MoveOn.org, protested injustice and got out the vote. My accomplishments include using innovative Internet petition drives to keep our elections clean (ContestTheVote.org) and driving corrupt politicians out (RebukeDuke.org) Using this technology, I organized several labor unions and hundreds of volunteers against a slate of odious initiatives against firefighters, teachers and nurses brought forth by Governor Schwarzenegger; our campaign collected over 50,000 signatures, gained the support of Treasurer Phil Angelides and successfully defeated all of the Governor’s initiatives.
