After the stunning result of the 2016 presidential election, I have been galvanized to fight for the Democratic and progressive values I had come to take somewhat for granted. Until then, I had seen our nation progressing in the direction of increased civil rights, equality opportunity, environmental protection, and health coverage. But after the election, I saw all these values under assault and important progress threatened. As a member of MoveOn, Indivisible CA-33, Progressive Volunteer Network of Santa Monica, and Santa Monica Democratic Club, I have been on the front lines of pushing our representatives for greater accountability in these areas – and to win back Democratic control of the U.S. House. I am thrilled with the results of the 2018 Congressional elections and am ready to help Democrats gain an even greater voice on the national stage. At this point in our history, Democrats are truly the “party of the people” and I’m ready to do all within my power to help us advance an agenda is truly “of the people, by the people, for the people.”
